La Puerta – Great Mexican Bar Downtown San Diego

Gonna keep this one short. La Puerta: TOP FIVE of places to eat, drink, and hang out. That’s all there is to it. Jen, the mixologist there, created a great drink menu. Ask for a ‘Hot for Teacher’ one of the best drinks I’ve ever had.Also the staff is the BEST!
The food they serve is top notch. And whats better is they serve it late, till about 1am every night, though my favorite is their Carne Asada Fries, best in San Diego.
They also have one of the better happy hours in my opinion, 1/2 off drinks and appetizers. What else do you need?
And did I mention the music selection? There hasn’t been a song I couldnt sing right then and there on the spot. And no, they dont play that top 40 crap. The music is good old rock and roll, with the welcomed odd ball track mixed in from time to time. You also get DJs and Bands that will play in the back of the bar Weds thru Sunday.

I must say the Carne Asada Fries are my favorite too! Though they have some great guacamole and chips… that are to die for. All the food is fantastic!!! Go Eat and Enjoy!
They also have a really hot waitress with really nice skin! LOVE HER!
