Tattoo’s: Art and Expression
Mar 05

Everyone has their own definition of what a tattoo means to them. Some people put little meaning behind it while for others it may mean the world. I personally look at tattoos as merely a form of art and expression. My tattoo has some meaningful items within it’s artwork, but as a whole it is just that, art. Art that I feel looks beautiful and that I can look at and enjoy!
There are some parts of my tattoo that are very meaningful to me. There is a paint brush, which represents my true passion for art. There is a Gemini symbol, which represents a long-lasting friendship with my best friend. Finally, there is a coy, which represents my love for my father. Not only is he a fisherman who loves his fish, but it also reminds me of the time we went to Florida together. I was only 5 and it was the first time I had seen a coy fish, which I recall telling my father it was a very large goldfish. Needless to say, my tattoo is one of my favorite things about me.
It is an addiction. The process of the pain is a way to relieve any real life pain that I may have bottled inside of me. This fine piece of artwork was created by Chris Winn at La Jolla Tattoo in Pacific Beach.

Looking Good!
The woman must bear children and the man must be tattooed
My nephew just got a tattoo. It looked great and it had meaning for him. So it made sense. I took him out for a beer to celebrate. My niece went with us and she asked me what I thought about her getting a tattoo. I told her absolutely not. Any other male chauvanist pigs out there that think women are beautiful just they way they are.
Personally, I don’t think it matters whether you are male or female. Getting a tattoo is a way to express yourself and I think all individual’s have that right. And, I think women are beautiful whether they have tattoos or not. My tattoo is merely a form of art and a connection to those I love. I do enjoy a good tattoo story, so please anyone who reads this post let me know your tattoo story! Cheers!
