10 Random Irish Bests
Mar 18

I would like to toast today to those who are celebrating their Irish roots and even if you are not Irish you can still celebrate. Enjoy these Irish favorites, whether you try one or just plain laugh at them:
10 Random Irish Bests:
1. Murphy’s’ Irish Stout- very smooth & balanced with hints of chocolate & coffee
2. Dublin Coddle- the common dish for Dubliners on Saturday night before they go out. Consists of chopped sausage and bacon cooked together with onions and ubiquitous potatoes. It will provide a good base for the many drinks to follow.
3. Dublin’s Finest Caramel Apple Cake- http://www.recipezaar.com/Dublins-Finest-Caramel-Apple-Cake-26718
4. One Hot Irish Celebrity… and the winner is…. Colin Farrell! Not only is he out, but his Irish accent makes me tingle.
5. Top Irish Baby Names: For a boy, Conor and for a girl, Chloe.
6. Irish Whiskey- Redbreast (12 years old) – uniquely Irish pure pot still: emphatic yet elegant. Assertive yet smooth. With hints of caramel, golden raisins, nuts and peat. A long, sweet spice finish.
7. The Irish Kilt- one is not complete without sporting one of these unforgettable plaid skirts for women and men!
8. Irish slang terms- a few fun slang words to use on your night out. “Hit the tiles”- going out, “Moxy”- horrible, “Boot”- slut/whore, “Jellies”- breasts, “Ram off”- fuck off, and “langered”- drunk.
9. One of Ireland’s best cities….Dublin. There is so much to see from the castles to the amazing sights, but most importantly the great pubs. Enjoy a traditional Irish evening at the famous 16th century, Abby Tavern.
10. One of the best bands to come from Ireland…and the winner is…. U2!
Let’s all raise our green beer filled mugs in the air and say “CHEERS!”

Cheers to being Irish!!!
Trader Joe’s had Black Hart Irish Stout on sale for St Patrick’s Day. It’s made by http://www.northcoastbrewing.com/ so not really Irish but I’d recommend it.
